Hello Scarleteen, I know the best and most accurate solution to my problem is asking a doctor, but I just thought I'd check and see if it was something common, or what it sounded like at least.
Today I was masturbating and had one finger rather far up into my vagina. The tip of my finger touched something that felt like the end of my vagina, which I didn't think was possible for a finger to reach to. I felt it a little bit, and it felt like a little a flap or fold, or like little tiny rolls of skin. There was no pain or anything and I wasn't being rough at all, and was lubricated and aroused, but in the tip of my finger, there was a small bit of blood.
Any ideas of what this could be, or what happened? My first thought was if it was my hymen.. but then I didn't think it was that far up, and also I thought it would be mostley worn away, even though i'm still a virgin, I've used tampons for the past 2 or 3 years, and I've also used toys during masturbation that were larger in girth and longer than my finger that seemed to cause bleeding. =\ Any thoughts would be appreciated. -Smiley [Smile]

It sounds like you hit your cervix, which is completely possible to feel and touch, or the tissue around the cervix.

You might have scratched yourself with a fingernail--there aren't that many nerves in the upper part of the vagina and there are few on the cervix itself.

Why don't you check out Pink Parts - Female Sexual Anatomy

Hmm.. thanks, for the article, I've read it before actually. Just out of curiosity, if it was indeed my cervix that I hit so soon, even with the short length of my finger, is that also as far as a penis will go, when I have sex? Does that mean if the guy is longer, that there will be problems, like only being able to basically get the tip in?

Understand that when a woman gets very, very aroused, the cervix pulls further back. This is one of the many reasons that, for most women, it's very important that vaginal entry (intercourse or insertion of fingers) doesn't happen until a woman is first very highly aroused, usually with the help of other sexual activities beforehand that aren't about entry.

So, no: usually, if you're very aroused first, and your partner for intercourse is also controlling his depth of entry based on what feels good to you, you shouldn't have a lot of trouble with your cervix getting bumped.

However, if what you felt felt like tiny rolls of skin, that may not have been your cervix, too. That could also have been the urethral sponge/g-sot, which tends to feel like textured rolls of skin. And anytime fingers are inside the vagina and not covered with a latex glove, a scratch can happen, even with well-manicured hands.
