I have a question: why does my message boards login not work on the main site? I read something somewhere about there being two seperate registrations. So I wouldn't be breaking the rules if I set up a main site account? And what does setting up a main site account do? For example I was looking at the volunteer profiles since I was curious about how many volunteers there are, but it told me that only registered users can see that.

Nope, you're not breaking the rules if you register an account on the main site. They're two different systems. Registering for the main site lets you comment on blog pieces or polls, ask a question for the sexpert advice section, submit "in your own words" pieces, and be counted in the "last read articles". If you don't want to do any of those things, then you don't really need a main site account.
Per the volunteer profiles, that's something I'll have to double check on and get back to you!

Moonlightbouncingoffwater: it turns out that only users registered on the main site can view others' profiles (including volunteer profiles) as a safety measure for everyone.
