Who remembers their earliest same-sex crushes, celebrity or otherwise? How old were you? Did you know that it was a crush at the time, or did you figure it out later?
My earliest crush memory is of my camp counselor when I was about seven. Of course I didn't realize what it was that I had felt for her until years later. My first concious crush was when I was twelve and had a HUGE thing for Julianna Margulies from ER(still do).

My best childhood friend, my middle school social studies and yoga teacher, the girl who always hung out at the back of the bus in eigth grade with all of the Blue Oyster Cult fanatics (I felt her worth was wasted on them).
As far as people I didn't know, Phoebe Snow, Stevie Nicks, Debbie Harry, Annie Lennox, all of the Go-Go's (except Belinda Carlisle), Donna Summer, Nancy Drew (in print), and a handful of others.
And I did indeed know they were all crushes, and I loved having them.
And yes, I feel quite dated now, thank you. Ugh.

I forgot about the teachers. Oh my, the teachers. I constantly have a crush on one teacher or another. The first semi-concious one was my 5th grade Language Structures teacher. Don't ask me what "Language Structures" is. I went to a weirdo school. In that class I remember that we studied Greek mythology and grammar. I thought my teacher was soooo cool because she had a pierced eyebrow. And she was way pretty. Unfortunately, she left the school to become a pastry chef.

Oh I feel so left out. I didn't really have many (other than you show me yours I'll show you mine which led to other games with yours/mine. But I don't think those count). Do we all remember Wednesday from the movie The Adams Family? Well I had a crush on her, she was played by Christina Ricci. I still love Miss Ricci btw.

I get along very well with all my teachers and have crushed on a few of them. First was Ms Dunstan, young and open minded. I was at a country boarding school but me and her both came from capital cities so we understood how odd it was to be in such a small place (ompared to home). Once in SOSE, she asked who would vote liberal if they could. The entire class raised their hand except for us. Yep, me and miss D the lone Labour supporters! She was trained as a media teacher, and she left at the end of the year to do that (our school didn't do media). I went to see american pie one weekend and she was there with her boyfriend - none of the other teachers would be caught dead in that film!!
I guess Media teachers must do something for me cuz the next year back at home I signed up for the class to find out what she had left us to do. Then I met Mr Oliver, possibly the most laid back and understanding teacher I have met. We got on like a house on fire, he didn't care about my sexuality, and before I knew it I was the teachers pet - sharing coffee with him in class! My guy friends reckon he's a paedophile, but I think he's just very in tune with youth today. He has read my fanfiction (which is full of explicit sex) and helps me with my writing.

Fanfiction? Yay for fanfic! You write? Do you publish it anyplace...like Ephemeral or Gossamer? I write too sometimes...nothing recently (and it's mostly been tame stuff), but the explicit stuff is good too!

(Fields the question for KG, since it's an opportunity to finally admit her own addiction)
fanfic, or fanfiction, is a genre of writing. It's 'special' because fanfiction is writing by fans of a specific television show/comic book/novel series/movie/band about that show/comic book/novel series/movie/band and it's characters. Beyond that, anything goes. There are certain subgenres of fanfic too, such as slash (homosexual erotica, ie. Mulder/Skinner, Captain Kirk/Spock, named slash because of the '/' between the names), filks (folk songs), badfic (fanfiction that was born to be godawfully bad) and crossovers (taking characters from one TV show etc. and putting them into another TV show etc., ie. Buffy/Teletubbies [yeah, that one exists]).
The stuff KG's talking about is X-Files fanfic, and the places she was referring to are The Gossamer Archive and Ephemeral Archive, the two places where any literary X-phile worth their salt gets their stories posted. Other popular fandoms are X-Men and Xena (especially for slash...rrowl...)
For fellow fic junkies, I'm not pledging my allegiance to any particular fandom, just to fanfic in general. ;-)
I'm still trying to forget the My Little Pony slash...shudder...

I hate to admit this, but my first huge crush was Harry Potter. I still have a crush on him, which I know is the silliest thing. Oh well, books are so much better than the real world. I never had a crush on a teacher (all the teachers at my school are old and creepy) and i think that would kinda stink. To have to sit in class trying to pay attention to what you're supposed to be learning instead of on the teacher would be difficult for me. I have a huge crush on Topher Grace (from Traffic) right now.

Just wondering, have any of you read the lesbian parodies of the Nancy Drew books? They're called "Nancy Clue" or something. I read them a while ago, they're fun, I guess. But I think the originals are more fun!

Glad to hear there are some other X-Philes around.

My first same sex crush was Princess Jasmin from the Disney movie ALADIN. It must be true what they say about currupting subliminal messages in kids' cartoons! Oh, and I have a HUGE thing for guys who crossdress (especially Stephen Dorf in I SHOT ANDY WARHOL. Come to think of it, the woman who plays Valerie Solanas is quite a dish herself). Does that count?

I'm not sure if I've ever really had a crush on someone before. Just little obsessions. With TONS of teachers! My brother's grade one teacher, my grade 2 and 4 teacher, my grade 7 teacher, and my music teacher. OMG, too many!! The celebrities that kinda get me going are Caroline Corr (that family is waaaaay too beautiful!) and Alisen Down.

Looks like this topic is long overdue for a revival...
I was playing a game with some friends today where we were comparing our first celebrity crush with our most recent. We were having so much fun, I wanted to share it with all of you
I was about seven when I fell head over heels for Molly Ringwald. I had just watched "Pretty in Pink" and I loved her so much! She was so cute and kinda dorky and sweet. Plus her red hair and gorgeous full lips were just amazing. I'm still pretty much obsessed with her to this day, but you never forget your first love, right?
My most recent celebrity crush is on Evan Rachel Wood from the movie "thirteen" and the TV series "Once and Again." I think my tastes have grown up quite a bit because, aside from Evan being a drop-dead gorgeous, delicate blonde with piercing blue eyes, she's an amazing talent (sorry, Molly!). I'm honestly more impressed by her intelligence than her beauty. And I'm closer in age to Evan than to Molly -- no more older women for me for awhile!
So, how 'bout you guys?

My first crush was when I was 11, I was mad on a girl at school. We ended up dating for 6 blissful months when we were 15 & 14.
My major celebrity crush was/is Britney Spears. That school uniform was very similar to our schools, and a sexy blonde in that could only remind me of my 1st girl.
I'd still go for Britney, along with Anna Kournikova, Holly Valance and Lita from WWE.

My first girl-crush... Well. Probably a neighbour down the street, she was a year older than me. We used to play boy&girl and be a happy married couple and hug and kiss. I think that was her way of being ok with it (calling it boy&girl). Me I liked her as a girl, but whatever. Since then there have been several... My all-time fave is Ani DiFranco. She is so beautiful! Inside and Out.
------------------ i used to be a superhero / no one could touch me / no, not even myself. - ani D
First one would probably have to go to my longest bestfriend i've known in my life, Sarah.. Probably around age 7. We used to play house
Later in my teens, crushes fell on a close friend of mine, Jen (and i still do ). She knows of my sexuality, and doesn't have a problem with it!
Other crushes would have to be celebrity-related like Cameron Diaz (oh my god, she is so gorgeous).. I also am in the like of Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston and etc.
I do also have some model crushes like Rebecca Stamos (wife of John Stamos), and some other ones that i can't seem to recall their names :P --these surfaced around 17
