This is actually wuite wonderful! I get so sick and tired of the stereotypes and dismissals and bi-invisibility that come with the orientation, so it was nice to see those myths be dispelled by GLAAD.

I know it's been a while, but I just found this, and I want to say thank you. Not only is the article great, but it's also wonderful that you reached out with it to share it with others. Posts: 44 | Registered: Nov 2013

Aaaaand the only comment on the post is one that ends "I stopped being involved in gay and lesbian rights when L&G became LGBT" (because apparently bi men only want sex from other men and nothing more).
I have read a lot of comments from gay and lesbian people along those lines. It hurts so much because on the one hand, you have straight society and people you know saying all these negative things. And it doesn't matter if you're gay or bi because having those feelings at all is just "immoral" or "unnatural" or whatever; at least as I see it, homophobia doesn't go, "Wait, you like the opposite sex too? Never mind. You're fine."
So, naturally, you turn to the gay community... and guess what you get.
Where do we have left to turn?
I got really excited one time when I found a book about bisexuals in a bookstore, but the whole thing focused on nonmonogamy and implied that being bisexual is the same as being polyamorous. Now I don't mean to disparage people who are not monogamous, but it's just that monogamy is what I personally prefer, so then I felt even more weird and alone - I wasn't even like the few people in the world that I thought I was like!
Does anyone feel what I am talking about??
