I've lurked around here for a long time, and only recently I've posted a couple things, but I've always been inspired by what you guys do around here.
After the new year, my schedule is going to be freed up, so I'm going to do some volunteering (or maybe a part-time job; I'm a college student). I was hoping I could help out somewhere like Planned Parenthood or a women's shelter, etc...somewhere where I could do the kind of work you do here.
So my question is...how do I go about finding those kinds of places in my area? Do you know of any particular companies/nonprofits I should look for? I don't have a car, so my options are really limited. One good thing is that my school is surrounded by medical centers, so I may be able to find an OB/GYN or something...I just don't know how to start looking for this kind of thing!
Also, sorry if this is in the wrong place...I had no idea where to put it so I just decided to Ask Scarleteen! Thank you! Posts: 96 | From: West Coast USA | Registered: May 2008

You might also just look at your local phone book for reproductive/sexual health organizations and make some phone calls.
Good onya for looking to pitch in!
