Hi i don't know wether this is the correct place to post this but i have a small complaint...
i am a recovering self harmer and was reading a post in support groups and one of the memebers talked about self harmers and called them "slashers", i would just like to suggest that to me this word was very triggering and although they may have thought it was relevant to call us that.. in my opinion it wasn't, i was just wondering is there anyway of telling people and erasing the word "slashers" because in some cases words can just be as triggering as emotion.. is there anything you can do about it? is there anything you can do about the way people talk about this subject without triggering a self harmer who may be reading it?
thankyou for listening to my opinion

We do have a topic specifically for non-triggering discussion of SI issues. It's here: http://www.scarleteen.com/forum/Forum9/HTML/000361.html

If you were reading one of the main SI topics, those are generally intended to be a safe forum for people to talk about their experiences -- and much of what they write about there will be triggering. Generally, people who are easily triggered try to avoid reading those topics.

If the incident you're describing happened somewhere else in the Support Group forum, please post a link and one of the mods in that forum will take a look at it and decide what should be done.
