I had my last period May 5th - 10th and I am not on any birth control. On the 11th, had anal sex in which my partner ejaculated in me. After sex, I went to the restroom and also rinsed and wiped down there. However, even though I knew anal sex had a lower risk of pregnancy, I still took Next Choice the following day (May 12th, approximately 24 or just over 24 hours after sex). On May 17th, I had some bleeding. It lasted about 4 days and was bright red. It seemed to be more than spotting, but much much lighter than my usual periods and shorter. I could have used just one or two light pads the entire time, I think.
I was nervous and took a pregnancy test about two weeks after sex, which came out negative. I then took two more, at three weeks and four weeks, both of which were negative. I am still waiting for my period and trying to stay calm.
I am confused because if I count my next period from when I had the bleeding (May 17th), then I am not late, but if I counted from my last "real" period, then it is almost a week late already. Could that have been my period and not just bleeding caused by EC?

It's always impossible for us to tell anyone when they had a period and when they had bleeding from EC. It's just not something we can possibly know.
But it's clear you did not become pregnant, so I'd just figure a late period, if that's what's happening here, is either because your period is late for any number of reasons or your cycle got wonky due to use of the EC, which can sometimes happen afterwards for a cycle or two.
