I've been having trouble with various contraceptive pills - I get mood swings, irregular bleeding, etc. I went to see my doctor today and he prescribed me "Luineira" or "Luna" or "Lunera" or "Luneira" - I can't read chicken scratch and he mumbled the name to me so I had a hard time picking it up. I have searched every possible name combination for this pill and it comes up with nothing online.

The closest name I found was "Lutera", but that's a generic version of Alesse, which my doctor knows i've had trouble with before.

Can anyone please help me figure this out?
Thank you in advance!

Did you not just call your doctor to find out what was prescribed? Or did your pharmacist not do that?

I assume if you got a prescription, you either have a physical paper or it was called in to a pharmacy. If you can't read his writing, a pharmacist probably could, and if it was called in, you could give the pharmacy a call.
Also, if you call the doctor's office, someone there will have a record of what was prescribed.

I haven't gone to the pharmacy yet, im simply trying to look it up to try and get information about it before I get it filled. I was also the last patient of the night so my doctor's office is currently closed, and I can't ask them, that's why I figured someone else might know something.
EDIT: I have the physical prescription in front of me, and i've been trying everything I can think of- I looked at a list of birth control pills and it wasn't on there, and there wasn't even a similar name, which is slightly concerning in my opinion.

There is absolutely no way we can possibly figure out what your doctor prescribed.

But all you have to do is put a call into their office -- you can likely leave a message right now with their answering service so they can call you back tomorrow -- to find out.
