Hello,

I'm new here, so if this is the wrong area for this, I apologize in advance.

I'm mostly just looking for some reassurance here and maybe some advice. I am 21 years-old and my cycle (while not completely regular) usually lasts between 28 and 35 days. My last period started June 30th, so I am on day 42 of my cycle now with still no sign of my period.

My boyfriend and I have sex one to two times per week and always use condoms. I took a home pregnancy test last Wednesday (day 39 of my cycle) and it was negative, but my period still hasn't come. I tried taking another test this morning, but the test had an error and I never got any results. I'm planning to go to a Planned Parenthood and get tested there in a few days if my period still hasn't started by then.

So, I'm kind of worried and looking for reassurance/advice. I know we used protection and there was no slip or break there and the negative pregnancy test should comfort me, but I'm still pretty scared right now.

Anyone here have any advice or comments?

Also, I'm not having any early pregnancy symptoms (sore breasts, cramping, etc). I don't know if that matters or not.

I'm afraid we aren't talking users through pregnancy scares anymore. However, this: http://www.scarleteen.com/forum/ultimatebb.php?/ubb/get_topic/f/28/t/007116.html should offer you reassurance and confidence in your own judgement.

Yeah, I already read through all that before posting. I was just hoping for maybe something more specific to my situation.

Thank you for your time though. [Smile]

It's not uncommon for periods to come later or be missed completely ever once in a while just on their own, but they can also come later for many reasons. Here's more on that:

M.I.A; Dude Where's my Period?

Pregnancy tests themselves can be pretty reassuring, so sometimes it helps our peace of mind to test again.

Read that too already actually. =P

Also, wouldn't it figure? I finally made up my mind to post this and ask for advice and not even two hours later... my period starts. Hahaha!

Thanks for your time! Maybe this crazy morning I've had will help someone else in the future.
