Okay well the last sexual intercourse I had was on April 26. I should be starting my period on the 19th but I haven't started it yet. I really don't want to look at my period for a sign of pregnancy because I sometimes go a month without having a period. However, I have been feeling really dizzy and having lots of headaches.

I also feel like throwing up. At the same time though. I've also been coughing a lot and every time I do I feel like throwing up.

I also had a urinary tract infection two weeks ago and the doctor asked if I could be pregnant. I don't know if that information helps though.

I'm so confused right now. Could I be pregnant or am I just sick?

With that intercourse, did you use any method or methods of birth control? If so, did you use them properly?

Okay, then yes, in that case, there will always be some risk, often a substantial one, particularly for younger women, of pregnancy.

So, since you certainly could be pregnant, if your period is late, you'll want to go ahead and take a pregnancy test.

Alright that's all I needed to know [Smile] thank you

But wait should I still take it even if I was to start my period tomorrow or 2 days later? That's considered late correct?

You can wait a few days if you want to, for sure, but it's just about if you want to not know for a few more days. It's likely been long enough since your risk to get an accurate result anytime now.

Hey Heather, I started my period today. A day late from when I usually get my period. Should I still test if I'm pregnant?

(Please be patient. We do our best, but no one is guaranteed a response within a given amount of time, and we're short-staffed at the moment.)

If you have your period and it's a normal period for you, then you can assume you're not pregnant. You can test if you like, but with a normal period there's really no need.
