Hi. There have been lots of people who have pissed me off. Sometimes I [feel angry and like I have the impulse to do something to them physically that isn't okay]. I try to keep myself from dat, b/c i no it'll only get me in trouble n' make things worse. Last year, I went to da YMCA in da basket ball room, n' I was pissed @ my mom, so I tried using da punching bag. I tried hitting it to pretend it's my mom, but it only hurt my hand. Sometimes, when I'm mad, my mom says I can punch a pillow, but dat ain't enough, bc I wanna [hit] something.

Anyways, all I'm trying to ask is, if I ever get mad at someone, what could I use for [hitting] that won't hurt my hand?

Ste-funnie: I edited your post because as someone who has been physically attacked, I found the language you used really triggering. In terms of our guidelines in general, please make sure that in the future, you're really careful with language around wanting to do violence. Thanks!

I used to teach mixed martial arts and boxing, and the trick is that if you want to hit something like a punching bag, to protect your hands, you want to either use some kind of glove made for that purpose or fabric wraps you can wrap your hand and knuckles with to protect them. The Y probably has at least one of those.

Or, yeah, you can hit a pillow: that is still hitting something.

But ultimately, advice on how to hit things and what to hit really isn't about sex or relationships education, which is what we do here, so why don't you ask someone at the Y about this?
