I've had what I'm pretty sure is a UTI for about a day, maybe a little over. I have a burning itch when I pee, and I can't seem to pee enough, in addition to nausea and slight discomfort in my lower abdomen. Only now I am seeing what looks like blood in my urine and some slight fullness and pressure in my stomach area. Nothing too serious, but I'm a little worried.

Unfortunately, I am living in the boonies for the summer and am about an hour away from any non-emergency medical care, and am doing theatre which means that I am under contract to work and am not replaceable. Assuming that I am able to manage symptoms, can I wait two weeks until I get home to get an appointment with my doctor or do I need to make a 3 am ER visit. Thanks.

If it helps, I am a twenty year old, sexually active, monogomous female.

Blood in the urine and other worsening symptoms indicate that you should be seen as soon as possible. If left untreated, UTIs can actually spread to your kidneys, and speaking from experience, that's definitely not something you want to happen. Sometimes if an infection is caught at the very beginning, it's possible to head it off by drinking lots of water, but you're past that point now and you should get medical treatment as soon as you possibly can.
