I've been using playtex "super absorbency" tampons for about a year now, and I haven't experienced any bad symptoms, but when I mentioned it to a friend, she said I could get TSS and die, even if I really need super absorbency, just because I haven't had sex yet. Is this true? Should I be worried?

Whether someone gets TSS doesn't have anything to do with whether they've ever been or are currently sexually active. TSS is pretty rare, but to avoid it, you'll want to use the lowest absorbency tampon you need and change it as often as necessary - at the very least, every 8 hours, but between every 4-6 hours is best.
