So far, it's only a trailer (but a very amusing one) for a movie called "Hysteria"-a movie about the invention of the vibrator. From what I can tell, it's been released in Canada at the Toronto Film Festival, and will be released in a good portion of Europe in 2011. Even though I'm not entirely sure if I want to see it (mostly because I look like I'm too young to even watch a trailer for this movie and I'm certain this movie will either have many couples, many goofing off college kids with lewd comments, or creepy old guys in the audience, and I dislike going to movies alone anyway. If I can convince a friend of mine, I might go watch it) I'm somewhat annoyed that there is no release date for the U.S. yet. Are we really so bothered by sex, especially by women receiving pleasure, that we will allow R-rated movies with violence and gruesome deaths, but not this? http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2010/nov/07/vibrator-victorian-women-film-hysteria This is a non-R-rated article about the movie.

A friend linked me to the trailer last week, and I'm ridiculously excited about the movie. From the trailer it looks like they are leaving out a lot of the more serious side of this, but this still looks like a very fun movie to watch.

Mainly, there is what I have known and understood to be a pretty serious misrepresentation of history in this, one that make me pretty irritated. It's not like we need more misrepresentations around the history of sexuality, after all.
