My friend broke up with his girlfriend a couple of months ago. Since then he has been in a depression and he is better now. But his girlfriend started to go out w/ someone else as soon as they broke up which made him mad and even more depressed. Well his ex and her other boyfriend quit going out a couple of weeks ago and now he has this plan to get her back by going out w/ her, "using" her, and then breaking up with her. That's what he tells everyone, but I know that he is only telling everyone this becuz I know he really loved her and that if anyone else found out he really loved her and started to go w/ her again then everyone would make fun of him becuz his ex had a reputation of being a "slut". So what do you think he should do. I know this is none of my business, but I'm just trying to prevent 2 ppl from getting hurt, especially him becuz I know it's just going to end up in heart ache and depression again.
Also he has been trying to get together with some other girl (not his ex) and she already has a boyfriend but the girl said that if things didn't work out with her boyfriend that she would get together with him. But I told him he shouldn't settle for second best and be a rebound. I told him he shouldn't sit around for a relationship that prolly won't happen and i think that's why is looking to get back with his ex. So any help on this?

He needs to leave girls alone for a while. Plans to get an ex back, or attempts to get with girls who are already in relationships, are scummy and rude. He needs to learn to move on from his ex, take some time for himself and be single. I don't think he should concern himself so much with being with someone. I know it's hard to break up, especially when you see the person with someone else, but you're right, he's only going to get hurt and depressed again if he tries to get her back, or if he tries to be with someone who is already taken. You can encourage him to focus on his own interests and his friends, rather than dating. He needs to move on and not worry about it for a while, and with time, new girls will come along.
