I don't know the best place to post this, so I just picked here.
I have to write an abstract for biology on genetic disorders. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? I need to pick a topic by tomorrow though. I should've asked earlier, but I kept putting it off.
I can always pick from a list, but I wanted something interesting. And something that had a fair amount of information. If anyone had any ideas, I would greatly appreciate it.

Well, I think I have this right when I call it a genetic disorder-what about Downs Syndrome?
I learned that it happens when a child had two 23rd chromosones (something like that). That's pretty much all I know about it, but I'm positive that there are excellent resources on it.

How about Klinefelter's Syndrome? It's a fascinating genetic anomaly in which a male person has three (rather than two) sex chromosomes -- XXY instead of XY.

Huntington's disease. It's a dominant mutation that's actually coded in the genome. There's plenty of resources avalable and loads of papers and documentation on research. It was also one of the first disease genes found on the genome.

Actually, it's three 21st chromosomes.

I wasn't able to get online to read some suggestions, so I chose asthma. My teacher said it's not really a genetic disorder, but I'm allowed to do it. It's different than everyone else's and there are a LOT of resources on it. Plus, I have asthma and I want to know more about it. It's conveinent.
