personally, thses two girls are pretty much just kissing in the street - did that become illegal cause i missed that one! and one of the girls (apparently) was 15 when the video was made, but they are just kissing! plus i doubt this debate would have even happened if it was a hetro couple kissing.
i wonder if *adults* think "kids" are too impressionable these days... and why didnt they make this big kick up when breiiany sphears went all school-girly? or when the spice girls made being in a GROUP cool? "gee, the word group might turn our children into drug-pumping groupies!!! oh nooo!"
i wonder, is the critic's problem that this video will only be bought by paedophiles? (and "isnt it better they spend £2.99 for a cdrom video than buy child porn or go out and abduct children?")/ or is it that their daughters will go buy it and "stumble accross lesbienism" (actual quote from some t.v show i watched about it)
do you catch my drift?
what is your opinion?

(Just an FYI, and yes, I correct on this often, but it is important. A pedophile -- someone who is attracted to pre-pubescent children -- will have no interest in watching two teenage girls kissing. A hebephile -- someone who is attracted to teens -- would or might.
As well, all the good data we have via sexology pertaining to people attracted sexually to teens and/or children supports that such folks are NOT usually the child molestors or kidnappers. The people engaging in those crimes are rarely pedophilies or hebephiles, in the same way people who rape adults rarely do so because of sexual attraction.)

thank you for that miz S... i didn't know the correct term for those attracted to teens not children, i thought there was a different name but i did not know it. (how do you pronounce hebephile?)
i'm sorry, the part about child abduction was a quote from one of the t.v slots i have seen about it. i will edit and correct it.

I doubt this debate would have happened, but it might still have caused controversy. You said one of them was 15, so had it been a hetero couple there may well have been debate over underage sex, teen pregnancy and STDs.

No need to apologize: the media -- as with most things -- tends to sensationalize hot topics further to get everyone riled up and in a panic (and thus up ratings). As it is with child kidnapping period, here in the states in the eighties and nineties, we were told by the media kidnapping-by-strangers was "epidemic," when in fact, less than likely a couple handfuls were done by people who weren't the childs' own parents in custody disputes, or in trying to escape from abusive partners. In other words, there was no such epidemic, the same way there was no actualy "stanatic ritual abuse" panic.
And it's pronounced "hee-buh-file"
