I wanted to get my eyebrow or belly button pierced for my birthday, but then I got to thinking... piercings are getting very trendy! I know a good deal of people with at least 2,3,4 piercings... didn't it start out as something to claim your individuality with? Now, I mean, even Britney Spears, has her belly button pierced (not that she's not an individual, I like Britney!). What do you guys think? Have piercings become too trendy?

I try as hard as can not pay attention to trends, and i say , if ya like it, then do it. Who cares if everyone has one, or if no one has one.

my ears were pierced as a young lass, but that was because all the girls in my family had their ears pierced when they were young. beyond that, i don't think any of us have any more piercings.

on my dad's side though, my cousin Stacy got her belly button pierced. She's just like that though...belly button pierced and four tattoos. She just has them because she liked them though, I don't think it was any reason to claim her individuality or her body (which is an often heard response at tattoo conventions that I've witnessed). She has this cool dangling earing off of her belly button piercing though.

Celtic Daisy has got the right idea- don't worry about the trends at all. Get one if you want one, whether it's popular or not. I'm sure that you're enough of an individual that it comes across crystal clear whatever you're wearing, so don't worry, okay?

I LOOOOVE BODY PIERCINGS!!!

I have my belly done. And I got 8 in one ear, and 3 in the other. I also like them on guys. Honestly, I think there the biggest turn on! I like tattoos too! I am getting one on my 18th b day, which is in about 2 months. I cant wait!

Yeah, I think they've gotten to be too much of a trend. Some piercings, in my opinion, are inappropriate. Like I've seen gum piercings now.. wouldn't that hurt and cause infection?

So let's go there
Let's make our escape
Come on, let's go there
Let's ask can we stay?

Can you take me higher?
To the place where blind men see
Can you take me higher?
To the place with golden streets

gum piercings???? I didn't think that was really possible. Then again, I didn't think that it was possible to have the inside of your mouth tattooed either. I think though that gum piercings, along with tongue piercings and any other body piercing for that matter can very well lead to infection.
