I'm thinking of starting a weblog, but i'm not sure where to start. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm loving LiveJournal. Basic accounts (which have all the features you could NEED) are free. And they have an oh-so-easy client for just about every OS out there.

The communities aspect of LJ is nice too.

I use blogger. It has some downsides (some crashes lately), but it's very versatile, you can easily add it to your website or host it on blogspot, if you don't have a website.

And it's a classic.

I know some people who use greymatter, which would not be online, but is a program you download.

There's also http://www.pitas.com . It's a weblog service, and they'll host your page.

Like Alaska said, there's also Blogger. I've had problems with Blogger -- it's eaten my posts on a number of occasionas and once managed to break so badly that I couldn't update at all and needed to make a new blog. When it's working, though, it's a good program.

I use opendiary.com It's great ... You can use backgrounds and change preferences and make it public or private or whatever you want. And you can leave notes and stuff ... I love it

I currently have a weblog at http://www.xanga.com . It's a pretty simple site, but it has alot of cool features to use. I started using it a few months ago, and it seems to be pretty good.

I've tried some of those services mentioned above: pitas, livejournal, opendiary. And they're all pretty cool.

But blogger is my personal favorite by far. So go forth and check out Alaska's link if you haven't already!

I use www.diaryland.com

It's really easy to use, you can completely change the html and it's VERY reliable!
