Ok first post on this site so not sure in the right area.
Anyway my 10 month girlfriend confided in me few months ago but her past. When she was 12 years old a man who was her neightbour was often her house, and started touching her several times for months. She did tell someone in the end up.
The matter was bought up with police but nothing happened. 5 years on the man walks past her nearly everyday smiling sometimes.
My girlfriend is ok now althought does get upset when she had a few to drink she was in tears few around 2 hours last weekend. I also heard that she had took an overdose few years ago because of what happened. I dont want to bring this up with her incase she gets upset.
I am really thinking about doing something to this man because it bothering me now and he has got away with what he has done.
Dunno what to do really for the best.
Thanks just thought I would express my feelings

Doing something to him won't undo what he did to her. It will only risk getting you in trouble, creating more violence, and perhaps create a new drama with him that she'll have to be part of again when she likely does not want this man to be any part of her life.
What would probably be more helpful is just to listen to her when she talks about it. Ask HER how you can help and how you can best support her. If she wants to check into her old case, for instance, going with her to the police or a lawyer would be a great support.
