At what age do you think it is appropriate to wear a colorful bra / underwear? My mom went bra shopping with me and I got two-- one was blue, and my dad freaked out: "You didn't buy that for SOMEONE ELSE to see, did you?!"
Well, no, of course not-- I just thought it was cute. But is this an issue for anybody else? Is it normal for parents to think like that? I am seventeen.

I think dad's are always going to be a bit protective. Plus you mum obviously feels ok about it. I wouldn't judge them too much about it, though it's probably a big overreaction.

I'd say wear coloured underwear whenever you want. For me, at least, underwear (esp bras) are about how they make YOU feel, not about who sees them. I started buying 'sexy' bras about a year ago because I thought "why not?" - you buy outer clothes that make you feel good. Even though no-one will see my bra, it still gives me a confidence boost because no matter what slouchy clothes you have on the outside, you feel a little 'dressed up' underneath.

In the end it's your business, not theirs.
