My boyfriend and I have been together for six months and everything has been great, you know..that honeymood phase?

But now, school is started again and we both work, we don't see each other too much (usually just weekends) and when we do see each other, its so very routine, that I find myself picking little fights with him. I know its not because we see each other too much , which happens to many young couples. We are very commited to each other, and we talk about everything, but before him and I have this conversation I want to have everything down, and know what I am going to say.

So any advise on why we are so routine would be nice? Like does this happen to a lot of people? Or how do we fix it?! Please and thank you so much in advance.

What are your fights about? Do you talk on the phone during the week?

You never said what your routine was. Have you considered cooking a romantic dinner for the two of you? Going for a long walk together? Movies?

Just yesterday my SO and I had a miniture picnic. That was lovely, and shook up any monotany.

Sadly enough, I know where you're coming from. And it sucks, it really does. It really depends on how much you're willing to go through.

We're not always picking fights at each other though, and for us that's what makes it worth it. The knowledge that someday we'll be able to be together and spend time together and live together - that's enough for us. That's why we're making it work. And we fight, but it's because we don't see each other. Different schools, he's got a job. It hurts. But if you're really in love with each other, it can work out with the knowledge that it won't always be that way.

It just depends on how much it's worth to you to make it work.
And no one ever said anything was wrong with simply taking a break when you need it. When relationships get hard, sometimes couples do need to just take a while to be by themselves. Nothing wrong with that.
