hello... im in a situation of "should i/should i not tell my friend". my friend used to date this guy a long while back, and the thing is, she still loves him. however, the guy is really obnoxious, but i know that he used to love her. today though, i heard that he still comes over to have sex with her, and he accidentally said 'i love you' to her. she thinks that either it's really him saying it, or maybe he was just caught up in the moment. she decided to write him a note telling him about her feelings, and she ended by asking him if he'd take her back because she says that she knows he loves her still. however, i also heard from another of the guy's friends - let's call her X - that he hates my friend, and he sees her as being too sexually orientated and the rest. i do know that my friend has a problem with X, so i'm worried that maybe X is skewing the details a little. should i still tell my friend that her ex might not really be in love with her still? thanks!

Unless you heard it directly from him, or a source you feel is reliable, you don't have good evidence to support that idea. I would still let your friend know what you heard, but be sure to tell her who you heard it from. Perhaps you could try asking someone else, or even go directly to her ex. Hear-say can lead to trouble, so be careful. Make sure your friend KNOWS that you didn't hear anything directly from her ex.
