I stayed at my boyfriends last night and we had sex using a condom, however I realised that I had left my pill at home.

As soon as I got home this morning I took my pill, and have looked on the leaflet and online at NHS Direct and it says that if I have only missed one pill that I should be ok.

Would it be better to use additional protection for 7 days?

I have never missed a pill before so am a bit worried.

Many thanks.

Yes, being late with one pill isn't a problem, especially since you did use a condom. Plus, you took the pill as soon as you were able, which wws excellent!

It sounds like you already use a back-up method since you use condoms, yes?

You can read more about late pills here, but again, you were protected because you used a condom and being late on one pill when all others are taken on time isn't something to be concerned about.

Three questions about taking the birth control pill (and plenty of answers)
