i'm on the pill, but it seems that every month if i have sex otherwise unprotected (like no condom) around the middle of my cycle that i freak out about being pregnant. i tend to be pretty good about taking my pill at the same time every day (like never more than 6 hours difference), but i just always get a bad feeling, and i don't know why. i took plan b after it this month because it was literally like day 14 of my "cycle" and we had sex multiple times, so i was worried. just feeling in need of some reassurance, i guess.

Well, first things first: how about doing your mental health a favor and backing up with condoms so you don't have to deal with worries at this level in the first place?

Also, if you're on the combined pill, it doesn't matter what day of your cycle it is anymore: your risk of pregnancy is the same every day of the cycle on your pill so long as you're taking it correctly. To boot, Plan B is less effective than your pill.

My guess is you're feeling this way because you want more protection than your pill alone, something plenty of people do. You likely also, obviously, are very concerned about pregnancy.

Do YOU think it's anything else? For sure, sometimes we can put worries on pregnancy that are really about something else, like not feeling okay about having sex in a given situation or relationship.
