I recently missed a pill and know that i am meant to use extra protection for seven days, however I did not have enough active pills in my pack for the full seven days. As it was my last pack and i was still waiting for my next pack i had to go on to the inactive pills. I am now back on the active pills and was wondering if there is any risk they may not be working effectively. I have been to see a nurse who said it is ok to carry on without extra protection, however i got the impression she was a bit confused what i was saying so now i am a bit worried. any help greatly appreciated

I'm a little confused, too.

Extra protection means a condom, not extra pills. You still should have gone onto the sugar pills and used condoms anytime you had sex those next seven days.

As of right now, if you're taking the new pack of pills correctly, there's no problem, and they should be working fine.
