Last month two days after my period finished I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend. Althoug he didnt cum or anything I was worried I was pregnant but unsure. Then nearly a MONTH later we did it again and when I came home 2 hours later I noticed blood when I went to the bathroom! It didn’t seem like my period yet but thinking it was I just put a tampon in and went to sleep. When I woke up to change out my tampon there was no blood on it? So the bleeding had stopped and it wasn’t my period! But then after I used the bathroom and wiped off I noticed blood again! Whats happening to me? Are there chances I could be pregnant?

You had a risk of both sexually transmitted infections (which can cause irregular bleeding/spotting, especially after intercourse) and pregnancy. At this point, you'd do best to get into a local doctor or clinic for a full STI screening and pregnancy test, and discuss with them confidentially about ways to protect yourself from pregnancy.

The rhythm method (assuming there are "safer" times to have sex without any sort of fertility charting/monitoring) has an annual failure rate of 25% or greater. Withdrawal, or not ejaculating, is even worse at 28%. Neither is a suitable method of birth control, whereas a simple, accessible, cheap method of birth control like condoms have only 2% perfect use failure rate, plus unbeatable disease protection.

Thank you, but what is the blood?! Is it spotting? Should I be worried? My actual period is due to come next week.

Only a doctor will be able to tell you for sure. Unexplained vaginal bleeding can be due to infection or other causes. You'll need to be checked first for STI's and pregnancy before they can figure out the cause. [Smile]

I took you advice and got the pregnanct test done. I actually bought an over the counter one ((ept)) that you can take up to 5 days before your 1st missed period mine was due in 2 days as od yesterday. However this morning i decided to take the test and found out that i got my period. I tested anyways and it came out negative. Is this the result of my session of intercourse a month ago? Or is this still accurate for the intercourse session i had 3 days ago? Is it still possible for me to have my period now and miss it next month and be pregnant?

If we're talking a full period, you cannot be pregnant from any of the past pregnancy risks.

In the future, though -- and I hope there won't be in regards to risks! [Smile] -- a pregnancy test will not be accurate three days after a risk. Also, it's really best not to go by the date of a missed period unless you chart consistently; periods can be off for several reasons. Next time test 14 days after your last pregnancy risk to be certain of the results.

But, again, if this is a full period we're talking about, no pregnancy. [Smile]

(And let's not forgot those STI screens, yeah?)

THANK YOU!!
i guess i will have to wait and see if this is a full period. Mine usually last 3-4 days. The only thing i am worried about now is that if it is not a full period and i could be pregnant, by the time i find out it will be too late for the emergency contreception pill. =[ ehhh.. but i guess i will wait and see.. once again.. THANKS A MILLION =]
