On behalf of a friend:
She forgot yesterdays birth control pill and took todays and yesterdays at the scheduled time. She had unprotected intercourse last night. What is her risk of pregnancy? would it be wise to get emergency contraception?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, she has a preg. risk, and a definite STD risk. she can try to get EC, however, she may not be prescribed it since she is on the Pill. But since she gaffed her pill-taking, they may make exception.

So tell her to get to Planned Parenthood (1.800.800.PLAN) or the emergency room or her regular doc ASAP. and definitely remind her to get her STD sreen twice a year (so should her partner).
