I've been drinking herbal teas for a long time now and recently started up on the bc pill! This is my third pack. Ive read my pill insert and it says St. John's wort could possibly interact but I want to check if any other herbal ingredients could cause a problem! The teas I usually drink are green teas and rooibos/red bush teas. sometimes little bits and pieces of the leaves of the loose lea teas get in my tea and I just drink them. Do the teas I listed lower my pill effectiveness?

We just had a board conversation with someone just like this last week, and linked her to pour page about the pill which includes things known to interact: Combined Oral Contraceptives (The Pill)
As we told her, ultimately, with the exception of St. John's Wort, there isn't data that supports anyone having to worry about every single plant they put into their bodies via eating or drinking.
When in doubt per your pill and interactions, you can always call your pharmacist and ask: they're paid to do that as part of their job and have the most extensive, current databases about anything that interaction with any prescription they fill.
