I was reading your articles about menstrual cycles and I got a little confused. In one part it said that your cycle should go dry-wet-dry in that order. But then I also read that your discharge becomes thicker and more white/yellow towards the end of your cycle? Is that considered dry?
The reason I am asking is because I am towards the end of my cycle and I have a lot of white sticky discharge in my underwear. From what I can remember I usually don't have this much, im usually fairly dry with little discharge before my next period. That's how it was last month. I did have a yeast infection at the end of my last period. Could that have affected anything? It also kinda stunk cause it made it harder to tell when I was ovulating.
Anyways I was just wondering if this was pretty common. And also why do they say that women who are pregnant will have an increase in white discharge? If that's so how much of an increase? I know I am not pregnant but I was just curious: )

HI Girl10,
Could you post the links of the articles that confuse you? This way I can more easily answer your question based on what you were reading.
Lots of thick discharge prior to a period isn't at all unusual. In fact, it's one of the things that tells me that my period is on its way. Of course, i'm not all people, but you know now that it happens to at least one other person.
Seriously, it's not a sign of any problem, though yes, it certainly is possible that your vaginal environment is still recovering from that yeast infection, explaining why it might be doing something different than usual.
I don't actually know why many pregnant women get more white discharge, but I will look it up. What I do know though is that that isn't a sign that would tell someone they're pregnant, since it happens to lots of us at various times.

Thanks for your response! Anndd those are the two links:) Maybe I just misunderstood them! Andd well usually I get an increase of discharge too buuutt that is only when I use the bathroom I don't think I I ever really see it in my underwear. But then again it could have happened to me before. I am just paying more attention now to my body.
And I am definately glad I am not the only one!! I am curious why it does happen to pregnant women though. Thanks again!

Dry doesn't mean that there's no discharge at all, only that it doesn't have the wet consistency that it does at other times in the cycle. So, sticky discharge would be considered dry...you can think of it as dryer.
All of this is fairly relative, as discharge consistencies are going to vary from person to person based on their body chemistry.
