This is sort of a sexual health question, since I assume that we can spread colds and flus to our sex partners via kissing...correct me if I'm wrong!
How long is strep throat contagious once antibiotics are started? And how long are colds (viral infections) contagious after symptoms go away? What about flus, after the fever is gone? I know it's not exact, but roughly? My partner and I want to avoid infecting each other!

Generally, with viral infections like this, you want to figure that you will probably be contagious until you have finished your course of antibiotics. And my general advice when there's not something, like a flu or cold, that can be treated is just to keep from intimate contact until you're feeling better.
And for sure: any kind of intimate contact, especially by mouth, can and does spread viruses like colds, flu and strep.
Just FYI, though, this is always something wise to ask a doc about when they're diagnosing you, since there are so many viruses and they're all so different.
