So I was curious. If I needed to start taking my birth control earlier in the day due to scheduling changes, would that make the pill any less effective? What I mean is, if I change the time I take my pill to earlier than I have been and continue taking it at that new time every day, will any effectiveness be compromised?

My second question is, just for curiosity's sake, is it safe to take plan b while you are on birth control pills, say, if a condom fails? Thanks!!!

Nope, moving UP the time, not moving it back, does not pose a risk of lowering your effectiveness.

So far, studies about Plan B and other methods -- including the daily birth control pill -- have not found any health risks to using them together. However, Plan B is far less effective than combined birth control pills, so really, it's not likely to really offer you much extra, if anything, you aren't already getting from your pill.

It might also help to know that condoms break VERY, very rarely when used properly. When condoms fail, it is mostly because of user error, just like with most other methods of birth control.

So, your best bet, instead of worrying about Plan B, would just be to make sure you learn how to use condoms properly and then just always do that. [Smile]
