So, me and my boyfriend have been having sex for nearly a year, though we never have much of it due to our busy schedules, and lack of locations. In the beginning we used condoms, but towards the middle we stopped because we would forget to buy new ones. After weeks of worrying, I finally got condoms, but they aren't any good. In the middle of sex I won't be able to feel anything and it just isn't as pleasurable for him, either. We'll end up getting fed up and going back to our old habit of no condom, which feels better but worries me. I'm wondering if we're using the wrong kind of condoms, but we've tried everything from fancy lube to generic, and I don't know what to do. I don't have the option of going onto birth control, but I do still want protection during sex, which is becoming impossible with these crappy condoms. What should I do?

Only the first 1/3 of the vagina has the kind of sensory nerve endings to really feel the difference with a condom (or feel it at all). So, if you both are experiencing major physical differences, this might be about how you're using them or what kind.

So, you're using plenty of lubricant with them, and adding any as needed? Have you also tried polyurethane condoms? If you are feeling a major difference, it's probably about body heat more than anything else, and polyurethane condoms conduct heat better than latex does.
