Part of physical arousal for people with a vulva is swelling in the labia - when you get aroused, one of the things that happens is blood flow to the genitals and pelvic area increases, and the result of that is swelling. Sometimes, it doesn't go away right away (which is called vasocongestion - also known as "blue balls" although women can get it too) and it isn't something to worry about, but it can be a bit painful. In the future, you can take a painkiller like ibuprofen or just wait it out. Vasocongestion tends to happen more when people don't reach orgasm too, so if you find this happening again, you can try masturbating to orgasm and see if that helps.

I also want to ask: were you using any lube? Too much friction can cause swelling as well, so that may have been part of the problem here.

So, it was probably both a combination of being aroused and of not using extra lubricant.
