how long after taking your last antibiotic dose should you wait to have sex if you are taking birth control pills?

First, you'll want to find out for sure whether the antibiotic you are on interferes with your birth control in the first place. Not all of them do. You can check the insert of the antibiotic to see if it lists interferences, or call your pharmacist and ask.

If it does indeed interfere, you'll want to use back-up for the entire cycle during which you are taking the antibiotics. Once you start a new pack, you should be able to rely on your pill again.
