Is it normal for menstrual blood to be a darkish red/brown colour? And sometimes will it come out in sort of...clots? Or is it supposed to always be liquidy? =S

Both of those are very common. The "clots" you're seeing aren't actually blood clots, though: they're bits of the endometrial tissue that gets shed when you get a period.
