About a year ago I engaged in unsafe sex with a parnter, I always planned to get an STI test to be sure. I've never experienced symptoms of any kind and I have always had protected sex since.

My girlfriend knows about the unprotected sex and she's not worried as we always use protection. Regardless I want to get a test to be safe. I have been putting it off but some circumstanced have changed and I'm moving in with her next week. So I'll be getting a test done ASAP, but how long (typically) will it take for the results to come in?

And still the beds are burning, burning in our sleep.
Take me away from everything I see.

It will probably take around a week to receive results. (This will depend somewhat on the testing procedures at your particular clinic/care provider....if they have an on-site lab vs. sending it out, how long their lab takes, etc.)
