So, I went to the gynecologist yesterday for my annual visit (second visit ever). I was examined by a female doctor of course. During the pap smear, she said that there was a 'lesion' perineum, which could be a form of cancer. She asked if there was any irritation and my reply was no, because I had seen it before (yes, I keep a check on my vagina..aha). But if there were to be any irritation whatsoever, I need to call in for a biopsy because it could be a form of cancer.
Do you believe I should go ahead and get the biopsy? What she said really scared me and I just want to be prepared. I'm no sexually active if that helps at all, although I'm sure it doesn't. Posts: 28 | From: Salisbury, NC | Registered: Dec 2006

If your doctor has suggested a biopsy, i would book it. If you're unsure and want a second opinion, you should do that.
This isn't something i would take my time thinking over, though. While vulva (and other reproductive) cancer in young women is pretty rare, it's not unheard of. If it is something that needs to be treated, you have a chance for diagnosis and treatment early on. You need to take that chance.
