Alrite, so two Fridays ago, I had intercourse for the second time ever. It hurt quite a bit, perhaps even more than my first time, prolly cuz my partner was quite well endowed. We were completely protected, with contraceptive gel, condom, and withdrawal. Afterwards when I went to the bathroom, there was blood when I wiped, and that happened to me the first time I did it too. I wasn't worried since I knew it was cuz some tissue had ripped.
So the next day, Saturday, I get my period. It was totally normal, and I used tampons throughout the whole thing, which I'm thinking might have prevented healing of the cuts. My period was over by Friday and everything was cool.
BUT...I went running yesterday morning (Monday)for the first time in a few weeks. When I went to the bathroom afterwards, there was the same after-sex blood when I wiped. Nothing bad at all though. Mid-day the blood was completely gone and I didn't think too much of it. I worked out again tonight, and when I went to the bathroom afterwards, the blood came back in the same amount.
Now I'm never irregular in my periods and never have random spotting, so am I bleeding just because the cuts didn't heal from the use of tampons, or what? And also, would it be okay for me to have sex again this upcoming weekend? Thanks so much.

First things first: don't put anything else in your vagina until everything has healed up and you're not getting any more bleeding or pain. So, no sex.

Next, the contraceptive gel you used may be an issue here. It's known to cause irritation, and really doesn't provide that much protection anyway, so next time, skip it. It may have irritated the cuts in your vagina further. Instead, use a good, condom-safe lube, like Astroglide or KY Jelly.

Last, withdrawal isn't necessary when using a condom. In fact, it can even lead to condom failure; when rushing to withdraw, a condom is more likely to slip off. A condom is designed to hold semen in, so let it work the way it was designed to.
