I've had my period for about four years and for the first three years it was pretty much on a regular basis. But for a little more then a year my periods have been really irregular. I have gotten it like seven times in the past 16 months. Lately, my cramps have been so bad that I can't keep food down. Is this normal, or do you think i should go see a doctor?

It could just be hormonal fluctuations, or there could be an underlying problem. In any case, you should see a doctor to find out what might be going on and if there's anything that needs to/can be done about it.

Time to go to the gyne! While it is common to have the occasional irregular period having prolonged wackiness, especially after three years of regularity, could be a sign of a significant health problem.
So go, get yourself checked out. At the very least your doc should be able to help you out with those cramps!
