It's essentially a easily reversible vasectomy, which doesn't actually block sperm from exiting the body, and doesn't involve invasive procedures.
The short list is: Cheap More than 99.9% effective No long term side effects Lasts 10ish years. Currently in the approval stages for men (5-10 years in the USA, 1 in India), and I believe they're looking into a version for women currently.
Assuming the reversibility in humans is the same as in animals(untested so far), and it makes it into the USA despite being rather unprofitable, this sounds awesome to me.
I was pretty excited by the idea of a male birth control pill, but considering the hassle, price, and side effects associated with the pill, this sounds like a much better option once it's available.
