I have been on the B/C pill since 2006. I have religiously taken my pills on time and have never missed a single pill. The pill makes me feel wonderful during my time of the month... while things were practically unbearable before it. In 2008 I lost my insurance coverage and I began visiting Planned Parenthood for my B/C needs. The people were great and extremely helpful. In June of this year, the Planned Parenthood in my area shut down... and now the nearest one is 2 hours away (all the records from our local one were moved there BTW). I now have insurance coverage again BUT here is the dilemma...
My pill prescription is about to run out (I have one more week of actives), and I could not get a GYN exam with my family physician until December 1, which is going to leave me with a month gap in B/C! Do you think if I called Planned Parenthood they would fill in that gap for me, or am I pretty much stuck? Is there any point in calling them to see if they would do that? I am almost positive the lady told me all the records got transferred to the new office, and I will gladly make the 2 hour drive to get my pills! What do you guys think? I cannot imagine going off the pill for a month... it truly has been a lifesaver for me!

I'd encourage you to call the planned parenthood that has your records. If you request just a cycle or two of pills, I'd say that there's a good chance they'll extend your prescription.
It sounds like you got your pills directly from them in the past, but have health insurance now? If that's the case, you might be able to get them to call a prescription in to a pharmacy close to you, so that you wouldn't have to drive. The catch with this is that you may pay more for the pills than if you got them directly from them.
