I've been on birth control for six months, but I no longer have a job at the moment (im only 18) so I could not afford to get my pills for the month of october. I have a couple questions.
1- I plan on going back on birth control whenever I get another job, so sometime within a month or so. Is that okay to be off of birth control for a little while, and then go back on it? (I know I would have to start over and wait a month for it to take full effect again)
2- I have not gotten my period yet and it has been a month. When should I expect my period to come? Is it normal for it to not come for a while after getting off birth control?

Have you looked into public health programs which might provide your pills for you at no cost or low cost?
Regardless, it's okay to be off the pill sometimes: it won't have any adverse health effects. It's also normal for your body to do a bit of a "WTF?" when you go off, so your period being late isn't surprising. However, if you had any sex in the month before this started, you just might want to take a pregnancy test to be sure.
