I read your Scarleteen article on the Plan B Morning after pill and how youths under 18 need a prescription. I was just curious as to how minors are able to get a prescription such as that; where and how does one go about getting a prescription? (do you have to go to a special clinic or will a regular Dr. suffice?) And is a parent or adult needed to be able to get a prescription legally? Thank you!

You can obtain emergency contraception through your regular gynecologist, public health department, or a sexual health clinic such as Planned Parenthood.

You can go here and input your zip code for a list of EC providers near you:

http://ec.princeton.edu/

You can obtain EC without parental involvement, so long as you make certain that your visit/prescription filling is confidential, and that you have the necessary money on hand.
