I just started my birth control pils so please bear with me. I'm currently taking Sprintec and lately I've been having chest pains. I'm not sure if this has to do with Sprintec or if this is a side effect?

Well, cardiovascular risks do exist with OCPs.
By any chance do you smoke, or is there any history of cardiovascular problems in your family or with you?
Any other reason why you might be having these symptoms?

No, I don't smoke and I never have. Well I'm sick right now, my doctor said that I have a "viral cold" so I'm not sure if it's just me coughing so much or if it's a combination of the pills and the cough medicine.

Having a cold is a pretty normal reason to have chest pains.
I'd just keep an eye on it: if after the cold has passed you still have the pains, or if you get any other symptoms or increased pains, then it's wise to call into your doc prescribing you your pill.
