Hi..I'm new and have a question about my new birth control. I had to go to a gyno specialist for unexplained vaginal pain, while I was there she asked me if I was on any type of birth control and I told her that I was (ortho tri-cyclen). Well..she asked me if I got bad cramps (also part of the reason why I was referred to her)and how long my period lasted and if it was regular (it wasn't). After telling her, she decided to put me on Yaz but didn't tell me anything about it and since it s so new I can't seem to find anything about it..the only thing she told me was that my periods would be much shorter and lighter and that was it. So, I guess my question is..does anyone know anything about it?
Thanks in advance

Yaz is another form of Yasmin, which is just a different hormonal formulation. If you look in the packet of pills, there should be a leaflet explaining how it works and what the hormones in it are. The manufacturer usually has a Web site as well.
Yaz is not tri-phasic like your previous pill, so you may find that the effects are different. However, you take the pills the same way.
