I was just curious about the average length of a condom is. My girlfriend and i have discussed having sex but im not sure what size condom to buy. I'm about 5.5" to 5.75" long.

I don't actually know how long condoms are. They are designed to stretch an enormous amount though (as in I can stretch one over my forearm no problem), so whatever you buy should be plenty big enough in terms of length. (And condom size actually refers to the ring size, not the length anyways.)

It really shouldn't matter, to be honest. The remainder of the condom would just be at the base of the condom. Granted, if you got a condom that was 3 foot long you'd have some problems, but with the average length in condoms you shouldn't have any problems.
One thing I not only strongly advise, but that I am flat out ordering you to do is before you have sex, buy some condoms and try them out yourself, just solo. Practice putting them on right, take your time and read the directions. Get the feel of it, etc. It WILL be worthwhile... I've been there, so glad I did it.
