I'm taking Vitamin K right now and this morning my mother told me that it may interfere with the pill (which is fine, I guess, because we use condoms as well). Is there a definitive list of what interferes with the pill or is it all chance? It just seems to me like your doctor should be able to tell you things to be way of.

Looking up both Vitamin K and birth control pills, i can't find either that list the other as a drug interaction.

However, I'm not a doctor or pharmacist. These would be the best people to ask.

Vitamin K is not going to interact with bc, but it can increase your risk of developing blood clots. Vit. K increases blood clotting, which is great if you get cuts and scrapes.

But if you have the risk factors that make you more likely to get clots while on birth control (family history fo stroke, smoking, etc), Vit. K should NOT be on your list of supplements.

I don't have any blood clot risks, so I should be fine. Thanks for the information.
