In health class we learned about "implants", which are little rods filled with hormones inserted in a female's arm! They somehow prevent you from becoming pregnant, and are permanant for 5 years, unless you have an operation to remove them before that... Does anyone know anything more about these things?!

Norplant were recently found to *not* be as effective as previously thought. They also can have some yucky side effects (similar to Depo-Provera) like nausea, irregular menstruation, cramps, etc.
