I recently started to take Loestrin 24Fe. It's been exactly a week(seven days). I began with the Sunday start as recommended by my gyno. But, 5 days in, my boyfriend entered me for about 3 minutes and then he finished off outside. Is the risk of me getting pregnant really high? Should I be worried?

Second, I know you recommend waiting a full month, but everywhere else I've read says it's ok to wait just a week to have sex without condoms. I want to know if the seven day waiting period is real.

Well, either way, you didn't wait seven days, right?

As we explain on the site, BCPs *can* be effective right from the start of taking them, so long as they are started on a first-day or Sunday start AND all the pills in that cycle (and every other, obviously) are taken perfectly. However, even then, they aren't always effective that soon, so a one-week minimum is advised, and generally a one full-cycle minimum is recommended to still use a backup method for those who want to highest level of protection from the pill they can get.

Now, you combined withdrawal with your BCPs, so you weren't just relying on them alone (and were using a backup method). If your partner withdrew well before he ejaculated (not just before or at the time), then the risk was not likely high, no.
